BOTH KCC and SC Villa are looking at today's Super Friday game as a final of sorts.
KCC will win its first league title in 11 years if they beat arch-rivals Villa, and then follow it with a win against Police on Sunday.
Coach George Nsimbe, who as a player won the title with the yellows in 1985 and 87, is confident the task at hand is achievable.
"We already can feel the title," said Nsimbe, who has in an effort to boost fighting spirit likened his team's title run to the final stages of a knock-out competition.
"I instilled it in the team that the Boroboro match was a quarter-final, today's encounter is a semi-final and Sunday will be a final, which we must win."
That golden boot contenders Brian Omony (13 goals) and Robert Ssentongo (10) are enjoying good form is certainly one of the reasons Nsimbe is confident.
Nsimbe has, since taking over from Moses Basena, built a ten-match winning streak.
But Villa have their own ambitions and aim to stop the KCC winning run and take the title themselves.
Assistant coach Ibrahim Kirya insists that whoever triumphs tonight will be the champion. "To us today's match is the final."

Swalley Kenyi adds that as the league relegation battle rages on, Maji have sacked central defender Sebastian Samanya, the club head coach Issa Isabirye revealed.
Isabirye also promised to reshuffle his entire team in a bid to avoid the drop.
Maji accused Samanya of playing below par as the side conceded 41 goals in 32 games this season.
