KOBIL has offered sh11.8m to Mother Support Initiate, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

The NGO helps mothers in different communities develop skills to uplift their standards of living.

Peter Ochieng, the KOBIL marketing and operations manager, said the money would help the NGO carryout its activities with the child-mothers in the internally displaced people's (IDPs) camps in Katakwi and Amuria districts.

"It is our great concern and care to assist the mothers in the IDPs in Teso region.

"This is not the first time we are supporting the people in this region.

"Through other organisations, we supported them during the flood days last year," Ochieng said.

Margaret Bukenya, the NGO's chairperson, lauded KOBIL and other institutions and individuals for their contribution towards improving the livelihood of the unprivileged in the community.

"This support is a real evidence of KOBIL's commitment to society and Uganda as whole," Bukenya noted.
