Barnsley striker, Kayode Odejayi has said that he will not be intimidated by the Premier League big shots in the Super Eagles squad when he reports for international duty with Nigeria later this month.

Odejayi was a surprised inclusion in Coach Shaibu Amodu 27-strong squad for a friendly in Austria this month and series of qualifiers in June.

"There are a lot of great players in the team, like Kanu, Yobo and Yakubu and I have even seen Julius Aghahowa at Wigan and he is a quality player too," Odejayi told KickOffNigeria.com, but was quick to point out that such star-spangled quality would not faze him.

"No, I can't be intimidated by the big players in the squad. I mean we are all in this together and we are all part of the same team and now that I have been given the chance, I hope I can prove myself and help the team qualify for the World Cup."

The Tykes striker is also determined not to become one more statistic in the Super Eagles scrap heap, considering the high turnover of players who come in and fail to make the grade.

"It will take a lot of hard work and a lot of effort and I have to be positive and show my best qualities that made me selected in the first place and maybe a few others as well. Hopefully, that will be enough to keep me in the squad."
