DELTA State House of Assembly Adhoc Committee probing the activities of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC) has submitted its report recommending the decentralisation of the Commission's operations by setting up area offices for the purpose of bringing the Commission closer to the grassroots.

Sponsor of the Bill that saw to the birth of the Commission, Mr. Misan Ukubeyinje then representing Warri North in the state House of Assembly had recently expressed dismay over what he described as misplaced priority of the commission.

Ukubeyinje while speaking with our reporter in Asaba said that "while I support DESOPADEC as a nascent interventionist commission initiated by me, I worry for the commission on its voyage of unnecessary unpopulist projects.
