Security operatives in Abuja yesterday seized travel documents belonging to former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Malam Nasir el-Rufai.
A source confirmed to LEADERSHIP last night that the former minister's passport was confiscated for hours before it was returned to him.
It was learnt that security officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport needed to be sure el-Rufai didn't have further clarifications to make to the Senate committee currently probing his tenure as minister.
El-Rufai who testified on two separate occasions before the Senate Committee on FCT has however returned to the United Kingdom(UK) where he is pursuing a post graduate studies. He left aboard British Airways at 6am.
