At the sitting, counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacob, told the court that since the matter is coming up for the first time before a new judge, Turaki should take a fresh plea.

Counsel to Turaki, Mr. Ricky Tarfa (SAN) said he has no objection, but plead with the court to allow his client to sit down since the charges are many and will take time to be read to him.

Presiding justice Adamu Bellow in his ruling asked Turaki to take a fresh plea, and later granted him bail.

Turaki was on June 28, 2007 granted bail by justice Binta Murtala Nyako.
