A middle-aged man, Mr. Patrick Ekagu, an operator of a public cab in Abuja city centre, yesterday displayed a rare sense of honesty and integrity as he returned a handbag containing huge sums of money forgotten in his taxi by a staff of

Patrick Ekagu, a native of Bekwara local government area of Cross River State, said he picked the lady at the ministry of finance junction to her office, but forgot the handbag as she alighted from the cab.

He said immediately he discovered it, he drove down to her office where it was delivered to her.

In a chat with leadership Newspapers.leadership, Patrick said this was not the first time people had forgotten items in his taxi, and that anytime such incident occurred, he traced the owners and returned the items to them. Moved by this singular show of honesty and sincerity, the owner of the handbag Mrs. Rachel Oke offered him the sum of one thousand naira in appreciation.
