The Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) light-middleweight intercontinental champion Francis Cheka is expected to defend his title against Karama Nyilawila on June 29 in Dar es Salaam.
Cheka was earlier supposed to take on Egyptian boxer Ahmed Mustafa but the organisers opted for Tanzanian Nyilawila instead.
The president of the Pugilistic Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) who is also the UBO country representative, Emmanuel Mlundwa, said the change of opponent had been officially sanctioned.
The winner of the scheduled 12-round clash will meet Mustafa in Cairo on September.
Mlundwa said the organisers were through with preparations adding that the boxers were making their final preparations.
Cheka is now training under his coach Abdallah Limbamba in Morogoro.
Cheka triumphed over Hassan Matumla with a spectacular tenth round knockout when they clashed in Dar es Salaam on March 1.
Other title bouts to be staged on the same day will involve Benson Mwakwembe against Mbaruku Kheri in a ten-round super-middleweight clash and Mkwanda Matumla who will defend his lightweight national title against Chaurembo Palasa.
Omari Ramadhani is paired against Obote Ameme in an eight-round super-bantamweight bout.
