THE Action Congress (AC) said yesterday the immediate past Chairman of the PDP, Ahmadu Ali, had miscalculated if he thought anyone would be sorry for him by peddling the news that his house in Abuja was demolished unjustly by the FCT authorities.
National Publicity Secretary of AC Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said in a statement in Abuja but Ali's case had shown there was some truth, after all, in the saying that what goes around comes around.
According to the AC through the demolition of his house, whether justly or otherwise, Ali was only given a taste of the bitter pills that the party he presided over for so long gave - and is still giving - to millions of Nigerians, who have been dehumanised by the PDP-federal government's ill-conceived policies.
The party said it was even more amusing that Ali is now pointing accusing fingers at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the man he never missed a chance to hail as the father - or is it grandfather - of modern Nigeria and the best thing to ever happen to the country."Obasanjo has only been out of power for less than a year, and Ali Must Go is now singing a different tune.
"This man really has no shame! He is crying over the demolition of one his mansions in Abuja. Has he ever given a thought to those who have been rendered homeless by Nasir el-Rufai's rampaging bulldozers? Is he aware that dozens of Nigerians reportedly died as a result of the demolition under the PDP government when he was Chairman?

Does he really think he deserves pity from Nigerians? AC queried."Today, Nigerians are suffering untold hardship for many reasons, including a high state of insecurity of lives and property, lack of social amenities, decaying infrastructure and deplorable health care, all because the PDP-led government failed woefully in the past eight years to transform increased oil earnings to better life for the citizens."In other climes, where people still have some sense of shame, failed politicians like Ali will be so consumed by shame that they will go underground as a sign of penitence the party said.
AC said for the avoidance of doubt, and as a party that believes in due process and the rule of law, it never supported the actions of the former FCT Minister, whose actions in arbitrary demolition of many structures seemed more of irrationality than a well-thought-out process.
"But we, like millions of other Nigerians, will not shed any tears for Ahmadu Ali, even if his other mansions are demolished by the ferocious hounds which his party has unleashed on innocent Nigerians,' it added.
