Following his alleged anti-party activities, leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ekiti State chapter yesterday announced the immediate suspension of the former governor of the state, Mr Ayo Fayose from the party.
The state party chairman, Mr Bola Olu-Ojo, who announced the suspension during a press conference held at the party Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti, stressed that a 7-man committee has been set up to further investigate these anti party activities to enable the state take final action on him.
They also called on the security agencies in the state to immediately reduce or curtail all the retinue of security aides being enjoyed by the former governor, especially whenever he is in Ekiti State. But, Fayose in a swift reaction described the suspension as a joke, saying that it is not possible to ask the owner of the home to leave for the tenant. He declared further that Governor Segun Oni and his government are not only illegal, but also tenants in the government house, due for termination by the time the tribunal rounded off. According to Olu-Ojo, some of the anti-party activities that earned Fayose the immediate sack from the party, including the conversion of the former Ayo Fayose Foundation office to All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP), and later repainted to Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) colour.

PDP ward secretariat in his Afao ward was withdrawn because he paid for it and changed it to ANPP and later converted to PPA office. Newspaper publication credited to him where he said PDP did not win the governorship election. Fayose, who maintained that Oni did not win April 14, 2007 governorship election, further described Oni's government as a product of rigging perpetrated by former president Olusegun Obasanjo and other anti-democratic forces, who conspired to rob Ekiti people of their mandate.
While accusing the party chairman double standard, Fayose disclosed that he (Olu-Ojo) has called him at least four times in the recent time, pledging his loyalty to him. Fayose said, no time the PDP chairman would call him that he would not promise to tell me the entire goings on in the government.
He keeps sending people to me that his loyalty belongs to me and that he is not sure whether the government would last or not. So why is he now playing hypocrisy," he asked rhetorically, adding that he remained the leader of the party, that if others are afraid to tell the truth, he was ready to do so.
