THE ministry of health has warned of a polio outbreak in the 9 districts of western Uganda that border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Health Minister, Dr. Stephen Mallinga has urged parliament to take the threat as a matter of urgency and encourage parents to take all children under the age of five years for immunization.

He said that plans were underway to conduct an immunization campaign which is expected to cost over 2 billion shilling.
