Kampala — INTERNATIONAL music star Akon finally flew into the country late last night for the long-awaited show at Lugogo Cricket Oval tonight.
The Senegalese-American star was expected last Thursday but he failed to show up citing a soar throat.
Telecommunications company Celtel, the sponsor, yesterday assured the fans that their idol would show up this time.
Akon, who flew in a private plane, threw journalists into confusion. He refused to disembark unless photographers left.
After much haggling, he dashed out into a waiting vehicle, with journalists giving chase.
The airport came to a standstill as his admirers rushed to take a glimpse of the superstar who declined to speak to anyone. He was expected at Club Sway last night before retiring at Serena.
