Angola: Government Invest 201 Million Kwanzas in Projects

The northern Bengo Province government is to invest 201 million Kwanzas, from May to December, to execute eight projects in Kissama District, in the ambit of improving citizens' living conditions, announced Thursday, in Cabo Ledo commune the local director of planning office, Garcia André.
This includes the construction of a school with six classrooms, Mumbondo commune administration head-office, rebuilding the local administrator's residence, which are works estimated at 51 million Kwanzas, and levelling of the ground of the roads Demba/Chio/Mumbondo and Mumbondo/Muxima/kixinji in an extension of 101 kilometres will cost 150 million Kwanzas.
According to the provincial director of public works and urbanisation, Carvalho Lopes, who spoke in the sidelines of the official handover of the tasks to the contractors, the rebuilding of 101 kilometres of roads will comprise the reopening of the road to 10 metres wide and improvement of the pavement.

During the signing of the contract, both parties (Bengo government and the contractor Transportes A&B) agreed to establish a commitment to end the works until December.
On his turn, Januário Bernardo, Kissama District administrator, said that these projects constitute a matter of satisfaction, as they are going to enable the circulation of people and goods in zones which were not possible before, besides a better functioning of state administration and the entrance of more children in the normal education system.
The ceremony was attended by the provincial governor, Jorge Dombolo, among other guests.
