The Third National Conference of Angola's ruling MPLA party, that was open on Friday in Luanda, closed this evening, under the chairmanship of its president, José Eduardo dos Santos.

The meeting that was attended by 1,500 delegates defined the party's electoral strategy, ahead of the legislative elections, scheduled for next September, as well as its programme of governance for 2009/2012 period.

The gathering, that released a final communiqué, took place under the motto "MPLA - working to win".
