Angola: Government Approves Protocol With DR Congo

Luanda — The Angolan Government approved, with the publication of the State Gazette of April 14, the cooperation protocol with the Democratic Republic of Congo for the research and production of hydrocarbons in a Common Interest Maritime Zone.

It is contained in the edition number 67, I Series, of the State Gazette, made available to Angop, on Saturday.

According to the source, the common interest zone is located in the maritime region comprising between the south point of bloc 14 and north side of blocs one, 15 and 31 of Angolan oil concessions.

The sharing of interest between the sides is set at 50 percent for each, and it was agreed that the Democratic Republic of Congo should reimburse the costs that have already been carried out.

Each side should appoint five experts that will be in charge of drafting the terms of references of modalities of partnership for the research and production in Common Interest Maritime Zone.
