Luanda — The Southern Africa Regional Police Chiefs Council Organisation (Sarpcco) are meeting Saturday in Luanda to analyse, among other issues, the memorandum of understanding on the creation of the region's Stand-by Brigade.
The meeting is being attended by representatives from SADC 11 member countries, excepting those of South Africa and Mauritius.
Topping the meeting agenda are such topics as harmonisation of the ties between SARPCOO and SADC, the Memorandum of Understanding for Creation of the regional body's Stand-by Brigade and the 20th Interpol Africa Conference.
Participants are also assessing the level of implementation of the decision from SADC police chiefs meeting, the harmonisation of the maps of the SADC roads and gender equity within the ranks of the region's police forces.
Another matters are the adhesion or ratification of the protocols on security and public order, as well as the programme of training to support peace operations.
