Eritrean citizens living in London and its environs reaffirmed their readiness to back up the national development drive in a meeting they held on May 4.

Lauding the major development programs being implemented within the framework of the Warsay-Yikaalo Development Campaign, the nationals asserted that they would boost their contribution in national reconstruction endeavors. They also reiterated their commitment to rebuff anti-Eritrea hostilities and conspiracies through standing alongside their people and government.

The Eritrean Ambassador to the UK, Mr. Tesfamichael Gerahtu, gave briefings to the participants of the meeting on the programs being implemented in different sectors and the accomplishments so far registered. He also explained the role Eritrea is playing to promote peace and stability in the region.

The participants donated over 10,000 pounds on the occasion in support of the national development drive. They also decided that salaried nationals would contribute 200 pounds each, while those not fully employed and students would contribute 50 to 200 pounds.
