A gathering of political leaders from all over the country for the burial of the mother of Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel in Omu- Ijebu yesterday provided an opportunity for the officiating clergy, Most Revd. Ayo Ladigbolu, Bishop of the Methodist Church of Nigeria to warn leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which controls the federal government and 27 state governments.

The cleric urged PDP leaders to put their house in order and provide good governance for Nigerians or they will face the wrath of God.

Ladigbolu told the congregation which included former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Speaker of the House of Representatives; Mr. Dimeji Bankole, several governors, senators, ministers, and other top government functionaries that Nigerians were suffering and that the ruling party must run the nation well.

He said: "PDP, put your house in order so that you can serve the people so that people may rejoice. Largest party in Africa put your house in order. Listen to Nigerians. Are they rejoicing or groaning?

"Put your house in order, PDP, Nigerians are suffering. Those of you, who consider yourself too big to be reprimanded, remember that God is greater than you. There is nobody He created that he cannot deal with. In Nigeria today some of our leaders do not fear God".

"Federal Government put your house in order. Ogun State be vigilant. I am not standing here to deceive you .The other time 35 envoys were complaining about the PDP leadership, about the unrest in the Niger-Delta area, epileptic power supply, general security situation in the country.

"If you want your generation to last forever, you must fear God. Those who fear God will not lack everything. Like Mama Daniel seek the kingdom and trust in the Lord. Remember that life is short. Impact positively into the lives of the people, instead of oppressing them, because there is only one way to salvation", he said.

The retired Bishop of Ilesa Diocese said the nation's leaders must fear God if they would do things that would make Nigerians rejoice.

Ladigbolu whose sermon drew applause after its delivery spoke of Jehoram in the bible who he said eliminated all his brothers because of the vast estate left behind by his father and was inflicted with an incurable disease by God.

"Are there leaders in the nation who do not fear God, taking over the property of the oppressed? Remember the story of Jehoram ", he said.
