Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, Saturday, in Luanda, received in audience the Zimbabwean main opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, who pledged to participate in the presidential election run-off.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the audience, Morgan Tsvangirai said he and his party were optimistic about winning the election as, he added, this had happened in the first voting.

Should he win the election, he further stated, the outgoing president would be granted a honourable exit as, he stressed, Robert Mugabe was the father of the nation.

He denied the possibility of political revenge, adding that president Mugabe would be awarded the status of father of the nation.

Confident about winning the presidential run-off, he said he hopes the voting will go transparent and smoothly, adding he will form what he called a healing government, to recover the economy of the country and other tasks.

Democracy for all will also be secured, Morgan Tsvangirai assured.

On the other hand, he expressed pleasure to have been received by José Eduardo dos Santos, who is currently in charge of the organ for political, defence and security cooperation of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC)".

José Eduardo dos Santos, according to the Zimbabwean politician, wishes the second round of presidential election in that Southern Africa country to go in an environment of security and tranquillity.

Zimbabwe is going through an electoral crisis, following the harmonised legislative, presidential and senatorial elections on March 29, which failed to produce a president for the country, as none of the parties is found to have scored the 50+1 required to avoid a run-off.
