Nigeria: NLNG Celebrates Chris Haynes As He Takes a Bow

10 May 2008

Lagos — "I want to say a big thank you to the management and members of Nigeria Liquified and Natural Gas for their kindness. Chris has done well in piloting the affairs of this indigenous company by putting in place soft infrastructure for procedures, norms, culture and framework for cost efficiency. NLNG is a success story for everybody to see and it will continue to move from success to success.

The company has done well in delivering 10 percent of the world's LNG supplies and contributing about seven percent of Nigeria's GDP. The company will continue to grow because there are great people and together, we will move it to the greater height to become the best company in the world. I wish my dear Chris well and also seize this opportunity to thank everyone who have responded to this great occasion. God bless you all". That was the voice of the newly appointed and first Nigerian Managing Director of NLNG, Mr. Chimaobi Jonathan Ibeneche.

"We want to thank him for a job well done. We are very proud to be here to say a final well to our Chris. We are sad that he is going but our happiness is that he is moving to something greater because NLNG has a way of preparing its staff for something great" said Chief. O. R. Longman, Chairman, Board of Director of NLNG.

On Friday May 9th, 2008, friends, colleagues, members of board of directors and staff of NLGN gathered for a send off party at the Civil Center, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos to celebrate the newly appointed Nigerian MD of the company Mr. Chima Ibeneche and to say fare well to the former Managing Director, Mr. Christopher Michael Haynes who takes a bow from the company after three and half years. Looking fulfilled and happy, Mr. Hayne, a man of a few words thanked every member of NLNG for their support to record tremendous success. The evening was spiced up with a short drama and good music.
