Harare

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council has reviewed Ordinary and Advanced level examination fees for June and November this year.

Candidates sitting for both the June and November Ordinary Level examinations will pay $500 million per subject, up from $500 paid last year, while Advanced Level candidates will now pay $950 million per subject, up from last year's $1 200.

Zimsec director Mr Happy Ndanga yesterday said extra-territorial candidates would be charged at the rate of US$50 per subject for Ordinary Level and US$100 per subject for Advanced Level.

The closing date for registering candidates for June examinations has been set for Friday, May 30.

Mr Ndanga urged candidates sitting for the June examination to register at designated centres well before this date to enable headmasters and centre administrators to meet the deadline.

June examinations commence on Monday, June 23.

Mr Ndanga, however, apologised for the delay in announcing the fees, saying this was due to circumstances beyond their control.

"Zimsec regrets and apologises for the delay in announcing the examination fees as the delay was due to circumstances beyond our control," he said.

He said administrative arrangements for November examinations would be advised at a later date.
