Sungura musician, Tongai Moyo, who is battling non-Hodgkin Lymphoma cancer, has successfully completed chemotherapy and is now working on putting his music career back on track.

Chemotherapy meant that Tongai had to cut down on live performances and other energy-sapping activities between December last year and last month.

"It was a gruelling task and I am happy that I have managed. There are so many personal friends that I can't mention that supported me during the time I was in need. "What makes me happy is that people including some guys from the media are still giving me moral and spiritual support to fully recuperate," he said. Tongai said his band was due to tour South Africa sometime in June while the UK trip would follow in August. The singer has also promised to record the DVD of his 2007 album, Pinda Panyanga before the end of the year while a new album has been set for release in September.

"I know the pressure that lies ahead and the tight schedule that I have but I will always look to the heavens for help. Without prayer, I don't think I will manage to do my things," said Tongai.
