The Rotary Club of Arusha has soft-launched a "50 years of service" book. The launch was held at the Kibo Palace hotel on Wednesday last week.

The book, co-written by Leonidas Mwijage and the current president of the Rotary Club of Arusha, Mohammed Jaffer, has tried to capture the great work the Rotary Club of Arusha has done over the 50 years that it has been in existence in Arusha.

The 220-page book has dedicated a chapter to each current member or the club, who has been a past president of the club and has captured the account of the projects they did in their time and period as presidents of the club.

"With the help of the author, we have tried to capture the history of Rotary in Arusha, and the great work this club has done in Arusha. From the 1st president of this club to myself as the 50th president", said Mohammed Jaffer.

The book has been sponsored by two corporate sponsors, Bensons and Company Limited and Cultural Heritage Limited, both of whom were proud of their contribution to such a great cause.

The Rotary Club of Arusha through its members has also sponsored a large amount for the completion of the book, and all proceeds/sales of this book will go towards their cataract operations projects.

The Rotary Club of Arusha, through the Ithnasheri Charitable Hospital provides cataract operations for the needy on a regular basis and the project is one of their most active local sponsored projects in Arusha.
