Rwanda: Kiyovu Test APR's Nerve

10 May 2008

Kigali — APR Fc face probably their biggest test in their chase for a tenth league crown when they take on Kiyovu this afternoon at Nyamirambo stadium.

The nine-time national league title champions go into today's crunch tie, two points behind Atraco in the race for the 2008 league title with five rounds of matches remaining.

The military side badly needs to win today's match if they are going to stay in the race that because Atraco will be expected to deal with AS Kigali at Shorongyi ground also today.

New coach René Feller, like his predecessor Andy Mfutila will be hoping to win the league in his debut season.

Feller will be without his skipper Boubakary Sadou who is suspended for today's game.

For years, Kiyovu has proved to be APR's bogey side and today's game shouldn't be any different from what has happened in the past every time these two rivals meet.

The battle between the two teams has always been fierce but the availability of ex Kiyovu players; Jabir Mutarambirwa, Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza promises to make today's clash even more exciting.

Today's fixtures

APR v Kiyovu

Atraco v AS Kigali

Rayon v Marines

Etincelles v Military

Mukura v Kibuye

Electrogaz v Police
