With only a few rounds left before conclusion of proceedings in the Southern Stream Division One League - it's now a two-horse race between early pace setters Hotspurs and 2nd placed Monitronic College.
Both teams won their respective crucial away matches against Young Beauties at the J. Stephanus Stadium in Keetmanshoop, last weekend.
The Sowetans dispatched their hosts by two goals without a reply on Saturday, but the students were not to be outdone either and recorded a resounding victory of their own against the Southerners on Sunday at the same venue.
Desert Rollers walloped the visiting Black Marocco Chiefs by 6 goals to 1 in a one-sided match at the Legare Stadium in Gobabis on Saturday, while Nampol dug their heels in frustration after their supposed opponents Flying Eagles failed to show up.
However, there was an exchange of roles the following day when the cops defeated Black Marocco Chiefs 2-1 at the same venue yesterday, with Rollers the recipients of three valuable points at the expense of Flying Eagles.
Hansa Pilsener Cup at Otjiwarongo
Rundu-based United Stars' remained on course for a double when the boys from the Okavango River shook off a tough challenge from Deportivo Alaves to win the N$90,000 first prize in the annual Hansa Pilsener Cup for lower division teams at the Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo on Saturday.

The two teams were tied at 3-all after a tense 90 minutes of football and the referee was obliged by the rules governing the competition to add 30 minutes of extra time to the highly charged encounter. Stars won 4-3 after extra-time.
