Kampala — In reference to the story 'MPs laud Hima's $104m venture' in The New Vision of May 6, 2008, I am greatly disappointed by the hasty remarks of MP Emmanuel Dombo.
As committee chairman charged with scrutinising the integrity and due diligence of issues before they are brought to the plenary, I would expect Dombo to get facts and keep them to himself for further scrutiny along with others in the committee. Blowing them out loud raises concern and many questions on the prudence and objectivity of the report the committee will compile for the plenary.
I hope other committees and MPs are not handling issues like Dombo. Haste tends to breed unreal impressions. Talk more wisely our dear honourables.
