Senegalese born American R n B artist, Akon was carried shoulder high by fired up fans at the Kampala's Lugogo Cricket Oval where he performed live last Friday (9 May) night courtesy of mobile phone company, Celtel Uganda.

The international artist's earlier concert scheduled for 2 May was postponed after Akon reported ill. According to Celtel officials, the concert cost upwards of Ush1.5billion (US$892,857) and attracted fans from the entire region.
