Nigeria: Chaka Demus and Pliers to Play in Warri for Okocha

based ragga singers, John Taylor (a.k.a CHAKA DEMUS) & Everton Bonner (a.k.a PLIERS) have confirmed their arrival in Nigeria on 24th June, 2008 to entertain football enthusiasts at the Jay Jay Okocha testimonial match which will hold two days later at the Ultra Modern Warri City Stadium.

The Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick who has been on a seven-day trip overseas to put finishing touches to the project, broke this cheering news on phone from far away Las Vegas, USA, at the weekend.

Mr. Pinnick who is the arrow head of the Jay Jay Okocha testimonial match which will feature some of the African best footballers of fame spoke from the famous Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas, USA, venue of the contract signing ceremony in the presence of their agent, Donald Harper of Jamstar Productions, North Lauderdale, Florida.

According to the terms of the contract, John Taylor (a.k.a CHAKA DEMUS) & Everton Bonner (a.k.a PLIERS) who will fly into Nigeria enroute Kingston are expected to thrill the football audience during half time and to further entertain guests and VIP's at the state banquet which will hold later in the evening after the match.

As a build-up in sensitization, the musicians would visit the studios of the Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri for a live interview programme on the eve of the high profile testimonial match.

According to Mr. Pinnick, the musicians are enthusiastic about the Jay Jay Okocha testimonial match. "We are eager to fly into Warri, Nigeria to do the show because the Austin Jay Jay Okocha is a footballer we admire so much. He is so much loved in Jamaica and beyond", the musicians were quoted as affirmed.
