Emmanuel Kendemeh

12 May 2008

The staff of the Prime Minister's Office now know fully well that they must be more assiduous, punctual at work, show exemplary behaviour and intensify team work as they each contribute to ensure that the Prime Minister's Office effectively coordinates government activities. The qualities would enable them treat files entrusted to them with more efficiency and to the satisfaction of diverse users of their services.

The Secretary General at the Prime Minister's Office, Jules Doret Ndongo, handed down the instructions last 09 May, while presiding over a medal award ceremony. In effect, 14 gold, seven silver and 12 bronze labour medals were awarded to hard working staff of the Cabinet and General Secretariat of the Prime Minister's Office. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Professor Robert Nkili and the Director of Cabinet at the Prime Minister's Office, Paul Meoto Njie, among other dignitaries.

Mr Doret Ndongo told the entire staff of the Prime Minister's Office that the Head of Government, Ephraim Inoni, expected them to be examples through the way they respect the cardinal virtues of the public service. The virtues, which they have to work to achieve, include commitment, dignity, loyalty, high sense of the State and general interest, respect for professional secrets and confidentiality. To the workers who received medals, the Secretary General said, they must remain references and models to the other colleagues through the way they quest for more efficiency at work. He called on the other workers to redouble their efforts and commitment to work so as to merit the reward of the State.
