Cameroon: Basic Education Set for Public Examinations

All is now set for the 2007/2008 First School Leaving Certificate, FSLC, Government Common Entrance and French CEP, examinations for primary schools.

Southwest Basic Education Delegate, Joseph Njika, revealed during the second Educational Sectoral Conference that took place in Kumba on May 9.He disclosed that about 27,000 candidates have registered for the FSLC, 17,000 for the Government Common Entrance, with 22 sub centres in the province.

The Delegate stated that the meeting was aimed at evaluating their performance in the last academic year and seeks to improve on the results.Njika said, coming at the verge of the examinations, they would ensure that there are no traces of fraud.

He said they would ensure that invigilators are always punctual and available at the marking centres.The delegate called on primary school teachers to be assiduous during this period, in order to record better results.
