Ndalatando

The Angolan Mass Media minister, Manuel Rabelais, Monday in Ndalatando, northern Kwanza Norte province, called on contractors who are rehabilitating or building the infrastructures of his sector in the region to conclude the works by next July.

The Cabinet minister made this appeal during a visit to the Mass Media organs based in Kwanza Norte, part of his seven-hour trip to the region, where Angop and National Radio of Angola (RNA) delegations are being repaired, while the Public Television (TPA) will benefit from new facilities, whose works are in course.

"Every work must unfailingly be finished by July", underlined minister Manuel Rabelais, who is worried after noticing that the works have already exceeded the previous deadlines.

He said that it is imperious the conclusion of the construction works, as they are part of the Government strategy, that aims to reinforce the capacity of news coverage throughout the country by State Mass Media organs.

Manuel Rabelais called on local Mass Media officials and the provincial government to intensify the pressure on contractors, so that they engage themselves in the conclusion of the works by the demanded deadlines.

Started in 2005, the construction works of TPA and RNA, in Ndalatando, have been funded by the government of Kwanza Norte, while Angop rehabilitation, that began in August 2006, is financed by the general management of the company. They have been paralysed since February 2007.
