COALITION of Ijaw Kingdoms Youth Presidents/Leadership Forum says that the parley with militants by some governors of the Niger-Delta will not not stop hostage taking, oil bunkering and other illegal activities in the waterways and urged the governors to embark on massive infrastructural development of the riverside communities to check the anomaly.
National President of the forum, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, in a statement, yesterday, said, "The Governors must take affirmation steps to carry out massive infrastructural development project in the states rather than parley with unnecessary groups all in the name of finding peace, hiding uder the
Niger Delta crises and looting/sharing our money through security votes".
He also said that giving political Greek gift to the leaders of the militant groups, as some governors have formed the habit of doing, rather than addressing the fundamental issues that led to the crisis was a wrong step.
Desribing last Saturday's local government polls in the state as a shame, he said, "We know that they have used a wrong process to emerge as leaders, it is very wrong for a Governor to have proclaimed that any ward/local government area that failed to deliver PDP will not smell his government's presence at the flag off Oleh".
|
His words, "There was no election, nor voting, rather what we have was selection and imposition of candidates on the people. Some of the candidates arenâ â„¢t even known in their wards nor Local Government Area, most of the candidates are not credible, have no leadership quality, there have not worked in any organization".
