It was a weekend of personal satisfaction for Yakubu Aiyegbeni on Sunday, as he finally went beyond the 20-goal barrier with Everton, and got maximum points to the bargain.
The Yak
Yakubu's first goal came in the 28th minute, then sealed the scoreline with an 82nd minute penalty in 90 minutes of action, while Joseph Yobo and Victor Anichebe both got replaced in the 85th.
Yakubu had a goal disallowed, while Yobo gave away the penalty for Newcastle United, who did not dress Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins for the encounter at Goodison Park.
Julius Efosa Aghahowa was not dressed by Wigan Athletic, as they lost 2-0 at home against Manchester Untied, while Nwankwo Kanu and John Chukwudi Utaka again lost at home.
Utaka was on for the duration, but Papillo got replaced in the 73rd minute, as Pompey fell 1-0 against Fulham.
John Mikel Obi also had a sad end to the season, as Chelsea failed to make the best of home advantage against Bolton Wanderers, and settled for a 1-1 draw, with The Catalyst on as a 78th minute substitute.
And to compound their woes, in contrast with a heavy pay day that was promised John Mikel Obi and his Chelsea pals to win the Premier League and UEFA Champions League double, little money would be coming the way of Nwankwo Kanu and John Chukwudi Utaka for next weekend's FA Cup final in England.
Papillo and The Attacker are both billed for the historic final at Wembley, but it would shock their fans to find out that they both stand to get only 10,000 pounds each if they win the FA Cup against Cardiff City.
Kanu and Utaka are headed for one of the lowest cash incentives offered to finalists of England's prestigious cup competition in recent years.
However, the word from Pompey is that the players need not think about money but the prestige of winning the trophy.

was on from the start for The Toffees, as they played host to Newcastle United on the last day of the Premier League season in England.
