A correspondent with The Citizen, Mr Oneithy Andondile, who was based in Kilimanjaro Region, has died. Mr Andondile, 30, died early yesterday morning at his home village of Ikonda, Makete district in Iringa region after battling with a long illness.A statement issued by the Chairman of the Media Club in Kilimanjaro (Mecki) Mr Peter Temba said the deceased had succumbed to a kidney disease.

Mr Temba said Mr Andondile's condition deteriorated on April 29 in Moshi while attending a seminar on investigative journalism. He is said to have collapsed during the seminar and was rushed to hospital. His brother, who works in Dar es Salaam, took him to his home village where he died.

The deceased's brother, Mr Lyahoma Sanga, said the family was still consulting over funeral arrangements. The late Andondile also worked for Majira, Maisha, Spoti Starehe and Kilimanjaro Post newspapers.
