Namibe — About 20 Cuban physicians, out of the 33 initially planned, will arrive next June in the south west Namibe province, to reinforce the medical assistance to the population, announced the local health director, Pedro Viayayauca.
According to him, the physicians will work in the areas of general medicine, gynaecology, midwifery, paediatrics and surgery.
This move is part of an accord signed in 2007 by the Health Ministries of Cuba and of Angola.
Namibe has 51 physicians, from which five are Angolans and the rest foreigners.
