Angola: Luanda Governor Hails Nurses Role in Hospitals

Luanda — Luanda Province Governor, Francisca do Espirito Santo, on Monday here said nurses have a decisive role in the functioning of any health unit, as they are the first ones to be in contact with patients at a hospital, ANGOP has learnt.

This was said during the act in commemoration of the Nurses' International Day, an event that was promoted by the provincial council of Luanda nurses.

According to her, nurses have a very important role as they are frontline combatants and have a responsibility image when seeing patients in the health units.

Francisca do Espirito Santo acknowledged that not always there are good working conditions, but nurses are always wherever they are needed to treat patients and also because nursing is not only a profession, but also a mission that has noble and solidarity values for the population.

She has acknowledged improvement of working conditions in health units, because the indicators are visible, since it is in progress the rehabilitation and equipping of several health units in the province.
