Angola: Five Die of Cholera Out of 875 Cases in Luanda

Health authorities of Luanda Province have recorded five deaths out of the 875 cases of cholera since January 11 to May this year, ANGOP has learnt.

This was said during a meeting held by the local government and the National Commission for Prevention against Cholera, meant to outline strategies to improve water supply distribution to thepopulation and assessing the appearance of new cases.

One of the deaths was recorded at a hospital and the others in homes.

The meeting was chaired by the Luanda governor, Francisca do Espirito Santo, and had the participation of the deputy ministers of health, Jose Van-Dunem and Public Works and Urbanisation, Joanes Andre.

Francisca do Espirito Santos said the cholera cases are under control adding that efforts should be done to reduce and eradicate the illness.
