Luanda — Experts from the Central African countries started Tuesday in Luanda discussing the region's geopolitical situation, in the framework of the 27th meeting of the United Nations (UN) Permanent Consultative Committee on security.
The gathering will prepare the ministerial meeting that comprises spheres such as Defence, Home and Foreign Affairs, scheduled for Thursday.
According to Margarida Isata, with the department of international organisations of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (Mirex), at the event, the participants will review the geopolitical situation in member countries, mainly in those states facing armed conflict, namely Chad, Central African Republic, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
She added that the experts will only discuss the situation in those countries, although a request was made by the Economic Community of the Central African States (ECCAS), to review the situation in every country of the region, a position that was not considered due to calendar issues.

Among delegates who have already come to Luanda includes experts from Cameroon, Gabon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo. The specialists from Sao Tome and Principe and Chad are due to arrive soon.
