Namibe

The south-western province of Namibe will host this year the central act of International Child's Day, to be celebrated next June 1st, following a decision from the last meeting of the Cabinet Council held in Luanda.

For the effect, the provincial head of the National Institute of Children (INC) Joana Inácio, told Angop on Tuesday that there had already been set up a multi-sector commission tasked with elaborating programme of activity for the act.

The children events will take place under the motto "Protected children, guaranteed future" and will be included several activities, such as the inauguration of children infrastructures, musical marathons and visits to historical sites.

The official guaranteed that the central act coordinating commission is chaired by the provincial governor of Namibe, Àlvaro de Boavida Neto, and comprises members of the civil society, religion identities, journalists, independent personalities and local council members.
