Uganda: Wounded Miracle in Tricky Falcons Test

Kampala — Tonight at Lugogo

Crane v UCU women 7p.m.

UCU v KCC Lions 8:30p.m.

Falcons v Miracle 5p.m.

Friday

Sparks v Rangers

Warriors v KIU

A painful one-point loss to Gulu Hawks last weekend should be motivation enough for Miracle to snatch victory when they take on MTN-Fuba League reigning champions Mogas Falcons at Lugogo Indoor Stadium tonight.

Miracle, who started the league with shock victories over giants Warriors (44-38) and UCU Canons (68-65), saw their luck blown away against Hawks, controversially losing 64-65. The Rubaga-based side will now be hoping for better luck against Falcons, who recorded a hard-fought victory in their last outing against KIU despite a poor start to the season. "I think the boys are getting their heads back.

Every game is hard but I think the season is going to be exciting," Falcons manager John Ssimbwa, noted after the KIU victory.

Poor displays

Falcons, recently synonymous with poor displays in the first half of the season, have already lost to UCU Canons (72-83) and Sadolin Power (36-37) and a third loss tonight could dent their title aspirations.

The good news for Falcons though, reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) Henry Malinga seems to have shrugged off the injury that troubled him last season, and will spearhead the hunt for points. Robert Mubiru, a former Falcons player, has impressed at Miracle and his performance tonight will have a big impact on the final results.

UCU Canons, with just one win from four games, have an easy fixture against KCC Lions but won't take anything for granted.
