The national football league has been put on hold once again to enable Amavubi Stars prepare for both the African Nations Championship and the 2010 World/Africa qualifiers scheduled for later this month.

Rwanda face an uphill task of overturning the 0-4 goal deficit against Sudan in the second leg of the first round of the Africa Nations Championship set for this Saturday at Nyamirambo stadium.

Whoever qualifies to the second round between Rwanda and Sudan will meet the winner of Uganda and Tanzanian. Tanzania leads 2-0 from the first leg with the return leg on this weekend in Kampala.

The second leg matches are scheduled for May 16-18, where the finals in Cote d'Ivoire run from February 22 to March 8, next year.

Rwanda is also scheduled to engage Mauritania on May 30 in first campaign of qualifying for the 2010 World/Africa Cup due in South Africa and Angola respectively.

After Mauritius, the Amavubi Stars will face Ethiopia away and Morocco at home in group eight of the qualifying campaign.

The league returns on June 25 after Amavubi's three fixtures of the 2010 CAN/World Cup qualifiers.

Amavubi Stars plays away to Ethiopia in Addis Ababa on June 7 before hosting the Atlas Lions on June 14 in Kigali. Blanko Tucak's side travels to Rabat to take on Morocco in the return leg on June 21.

The 2010 World/Africa qualifiers will resume on September 7, when the 2007 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup losing finalists head to Nouakchott for the return leg against Mauritania before winding up their campaign at against Ethiopia on October 12.
