President Kagame Tuesday left for Israel to attend the first annual "Facing Tomorrow" Conference convened by Israeli President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem.

The conference is part of celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Israel.

On Tuesday afternoon, President Kagame along with other invited Heads of State, participated in a plenary titled "Presidents Discussing Tomorrow" which was moderated by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair who is currently the Quartet representative.

The plenary session will discuss the rapid pace of globalization and increased interdependency among the world's inhabitants, versus individual nations' efforts at maintaining independence and uniqueness. Participating dignitaries will present their visions for tomorrow and their views on the challenges and opportunities in their regions, as well as the goals of their countries.

President Kagame is also scheduled to attend events marking sixty years of friendship between Israel and the United States of America.
