The 27th session of experts of the UN Standing Consultative Committee on peace in Central Africa going on since Tuesday in Luanda is closing today, Wednesday.

The experts that are preparing the organ's ministerial meeting set for May 15, in Luanda, have analysed such matters as programme of fight against trafficking of small weapons and the Sao Tome Initiative.

The experts have also reviewed the geopolitical situation in the member countries, mainly in those still faced with armed conflicts like Chad, Central Africa Republic, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The UN Standing Consultative Committee on Security in Central Africa meets twice a year in each member country.

At the present meeting, Angola will be taking the chair of the Committee until September this year, before it is transferred to Gabon.
