UBA Registrars Limited has unveiled a web based application system known as UBA Registrars Hybrid Portal to facilitate easy and fast access to information regarding e-Share registration services.

Managing Director/CEO, UBA Registrars, Mr. Peter Ashade, said at the launching of the product in Lagos last week, that the product is the firm's latest effort at ensuring time-friendly way of doing share registration and taking the services to the door steps of Nigerians.

"At UBA Registrars, we have carefully assessed the general share register models, while identifying key challenges in the provision of registrars' services in the Nigerian capital market. We equally identified the needs of key shareholders, the sum of which we have synchronized into this product.

"The product is a generational shift, a high departure from the norm. While others are still preoccupied with conventional share registration process and model, we have taken a giant step further which now forms an undisputed benchmark for e-Share registration services in West Africa," he stated.

Ashade declared that the product is a password-driven, e-mail-enabled Three-in-One Package (3iOP), which is tailor-made to address the needs of shareholders, stockbrokers and client-companies.

The portal offers major access to the shareholder to obtain relevant information such as: detail of dividend payment; certificate history; statement of account, etc. For the stockbrokers, it serves as verification tracker and monitor by showing the progress and status of every lodgement by the stockbroking firm.

The product also enables client-companies to have direct access to UBA Registrars' data base on-line, via the web. It provides access to such information as: total shareholder data record; shareholder structure; shareholding structure and shareholders range analysis. Others are: shareholder dividend and certificate details and statement of account.

Benefits of the product include: eliminates geographical limitation; saves cost on the part of the stakeholders; heralds a time-friendly way of doing business; and is on-line real-time. Others are: provides up-to-date response to enquiries; and brings UBA Registrars' office to the finger tips of all Nigerians, amongst others.

In his opening remarks at the occasion, the CEO of UBA Capital, Mr. Chika Mordi, noted the rapid change going on in the society with attendant increase in the level of sophistication of investors, and the improvement in technology which, according to him, has necessitated the continued creation of products of convenience for people.

He asserted that the launching of the portal is a manifestation of UBA's sensitivity to the needs of the customers.

UBA Registrars is a fully owned subsidiary of United Bank for Africa Plc and a member of UBA Capital. It is a leading share registration service provider with over 30 years experience in Nigeria.
