Luanda — A delegation, led by the minister of Culture Boaventura Cardoso, is due to leave Luanda on Thursday for Central Huambo province, in the ambit of project of Valorisation and Dissemination of Angolan Historic Figures.
According to a press communiqué, issued by the Ministry of Culture (Mincult), sent to Angop on Wednesday, the delegation will comprise representatives from the Ministries of Public Works, Finance, Territory Administration and directors of the institute of Cultural Heritage and Historic Archive of Angola.
During two days, the delegation will visit Bailundo district with the objective of informing the local entities on the development of the project. In a first phase, it will identify and catalogue outstanding historic figures of the first political organisations (pre colonial states).
According to the communiqué, the meeting aims also to pay homage to local sovereigns, among them King Ekwikwi II, whose ongoing studies, will led to the building of a statue of this historical figure.
