Eritrean citizens living in Oakland, USA, expressed determination to stand alongside their people and government and fulfill what is expected of them.

At the public meeting they conducted on May 11, an Eritrean intellectual, Dr. Berhe Habtegiorgis, explained the futile attempts of the major powers in a bid to ensure their domination and desire to monopolize natural resources at regional and global levels under the pretext of fighting terrorism. In this respect, he called on the Eritrean people to exert stepped-up efforts to safeguard national security.

Noting that it is the responsibility of every citizen to steadfastly rebuff anti-Eritrea hostilities and conspiracies, Dr. Berhe stressed the need to make due contribution in endeavors to back up the ongoing development drive in the Homeland.

Lauding the endeavors of the people and Government of Eritrea in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and enhancing reconstruction programs, as well as Eritrea's constructive policy on regional and international issues, the participants of the meeting expressed commitment to live up to the nation's expectation. They also made financial donations in support of the national cause.
