NATIONAL golf champion Vincent Byamukama is determined to revive his season despite a faltering start. The Entebbe player will again come under scrutiny at the Source of The Nile Open at the par-72 Jinja Club course this weekend.

The fourth event of the national championship is sponsored for the first time by Eskom, a power utility firm. Byamukama admitted the pressure is mounting on him as champion but he said it is too early to write him off.

"I have not been impressive so far but the season is still so young," he explained yesterday. Over ten events will be held in the year.

Byamukama finished fourth in the Bro Group Western Open last month, his best position this year. He failed to make an impact in the season opening Crane Bank Open in March and the Lugazi Open held recently.
