Local Government Council Chairmen across the country have been charged to embark on development projects that would affect directly the lives of their people.across the country have been charged to embark on development projects that would affect directly the lives of their people.

Prince Ben Oru out-gone Transition committee chairman of the Ughelli North Local Government Council gave the charge yesterday while fielding questions from reporters shortly after handing over to Mr. Kenneth Ibru who was sworn-in on Tuesday as Chairman of the council by Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Governor of Delta State.

Oru said it was only proper for council chairmen to translate revenue of the councils to projects that would gladden the hearts of the people, adding "they should not allow every kobo that comes to the council to go down the drain."

He held that they should bear it in mind that they were called upon to render services to the people, appealing to them to render the services conscientiously and deligently.
