Chairman, Nigeria Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO), Chief Best Anekwe, has said the company will build a refinery before the end of the year.

Anekwe said NIPCO identified with on-going reform in the oil and gas industry, and would, therefore, encourage the establishment of more refineries.

"With the reforms, stakeholders will go into refining to make more petroleum products available," he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Abuja.

NIPCO is owned by Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).

Anekwe did not, however, give details of the proposal, work plan and level of investment. He said as the commercial arm of IPMAN, the company was embarking on a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Plant in Benin City, Edo.
