Lagos

The Borno male volleyball team retained their stay at the top in the on going Famous National Volleyball league tournament at the Yenagoa Sports Complex after a comprehensive 3-1 win over Edo counterpart.

The Borno team who have not lost any match since the commencement of the competition on Sunday took the first set at 25-22 but the Edo team who never gave up came back winning the second set 25-22.

Borno, however, showed that they were a better side in the match when they claimed the third and fourth sets 25-18 and 28-26 respectively.

Speaking after the match, the Borno coach Francis Imoudu said he would not leave Yenagoa without winning the league.

"I am happy about my boys performances so far, but we are not underrating any team," he said.

In the other matches played Plateau female team defeated NIS 3-0, while Delta Force of Asaba thrashed Benue 3-0.
